The CDS-PP parliamentary group on Monday proposed to the Government a set of recommendations on the control of the wild boar population in Portugal.

At the outset, the CSD suggests that the necessary legislative or other measures be implemented "in order to urgently devise strategies for the elaboration of an agile plan for the long-term reduction and control of the wild boar population in Brazil, accordance with national and European Union environmental legislation, including nature protection requirements ".

The centrist MPs also want a study to be carried out immediately on the density, size and territorial distribution of the boar population in the national territory, and that, to this end, the Government should refer to the newly created Competence Center for Study, Management and Sustainability Species and Biodiversity.
